Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CashShield, a Shopify application provided by Atlas & Lila, Inc. ("we," "our," or "us"). By installing or using CashShield, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

CashShield is a Shopify app that provides merchants with tools to manage Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method availability at checkout. The app uses Shopify's Payment Customization Function API to hide, rename, or reorder COD based on merchant-defined rules.

2. Eligibility

To use CashShield, you must:

• Have an active Shopify store.
• Have authority to install apps on your store.
• Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

3. Account and Access

CashShield authenticates through Shopify's OAuth system. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to protect your account credentials.

4. Subscription and Billing

CashShield will only charge merchants through Shopify-managed billing when a plan or charge is explicitly presented and accepted through Shopify.

If paid plans, trials, or additional charges are offered, the current details shown in the Shopify App Store listing and the in-app billing prompt are the source of truth. Marketing copy alone does not create a charge.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use CashShield to violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Use the app to discriminate against customers based on protected characteristics.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app.
• Use the app in a way that could damage, disable, or impair Shopify's services.
• Resell or redistribute the app without our written consent.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

CashShield is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• The app will meet your specific requirements.
• Rule evaluations will prevent all COD-related losses.

CashShield is a tool to help manage COD risk, not an insurance or fraud prevention guarantee. You remain responsible for your store's payment policies and compliance with applicable laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Atlas & Lila, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Lost profits or revenue.
• Lost sales due to payment methods being incorrectly hidden.
• Damages arising from COD fraud or returns.
• Business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of CashShield shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Graceful Degradation

CashShield is designed to fail safely. If the app encounters an error during checkout, it will not block or modify any payment methods — all payment options will remain available to your customers. This ensures that a technical issue with CashShield never prevents a sale.

9. Modifications to the Service

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of CashShield at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the app interface or email. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.

10. Termination

You may stop using CashShield at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law.

11. Intellectual Property

CashShield and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Atlas & Lila, Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of CashShield shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of CashShield after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
